Basic Strategies to Teaching a Drumline (2)

This is a continuation of the first video, which gives you an idea of how I go about teaching students in a Battery setting. This part specifically covers 3's, or "hugs", as well as one of the approaches I use when teaching a battery excerpt in a piece of music.. However, this is simply an example; one of my teaching philosophies is that there is often no real formula to teach students, but rather you must teach to the personality of the student, or in this case the personality of the Battery.

Beginning Band

This video contains a lesson I wrote for a heterogenous beginner class involving rhythm. The lesson involves the introduction of dotted rhythms.

Land for Solo Marimba

This is a nostalgic piece that I believe captures the beauty of what the marimba is capable of. Here is my hopeless attempt at serving the piece justice.
